i had a great time in the philippines.. its really tiring to visit all of your relatives with so little time.. wish i could spend a longer time with them.. =) but i really enjoyed my stay in there and i also love shopping there.. hahaa.. shopping makes me happy=) haha..

monday: back to school again.. argh!! new sem coming.. 3 months of stress.. haha..

and yea!! happy anniversary to me and my chowder!! im so happy and proud that we reached our goal!! more anniversaries to come.. weee! i love you so much!!! see you soon.. =)

the exams are over.. well, my maths exam sucks.. argh!!! i didnt do well on it.. well, im still hoping for the best.. not the worst.. optimism.. hhehe..

my chowder just went to camp for his ns.. awww.. super sad.. well, i get to sms him right now.. hai.. i will miss you!! see you soon.. =)

well, my mom asked me to meet her at popular awhile ago.. so we can go to church together.. i just bought the book: the logic of life.. (see previous post on economics).. well, i havent started reading it.. hope it will be worth my time reading it.. then im gonna buy another book from the same author.. the undercover economist..

i was thinking of continuing my piano lessons.. ive started learning it when i was 8yrs old.. but then i lose interest on it and i stopped coz i dont like my teacher... i kinda regret it.. and then i started learning it again when i was 14.. but then it clashed with my violin lessons.. and the ending, i didnt do quite well on both instruments.. maybe because i dont know what i really like to learn that result to losing interest on learning both.. well, is it too late for me to learn piano once again?? and now im determined to learn it one more time.. hai.. im really confused right now.. i mean its not really a good time right now.. maybe after i graduated?? well, that would be an option.. but i cant see much free time at this time.. college life is pretty tight.. whatever.. ill think about it.. =|

a day with my chowder: best day ever!!

well, it started a lil bit undecided and confusing coz we can't decide on what to do.. haha.. we went to vivo city to have lunch with Shiera.. finally, i got to meet shiera in person.. we ate at kfc.. omg shrooms!! i love shrooms burger!! =) after that, we still can't decide on what to do.. argh! walk, walk, and super lots of walking.. until we decided to just watch a movie..we then went to the cathay to watch CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS!! and we watched it in 3d.. =)super duper funny.. especially the monkey, steve.. haha. so cute..

then we went to toa payoh.. stayed under some random block and talk and talk.. and ofcourse, we ate chocolate flavoured bubblegums!! wee. too bad, my chowder can't blow a bubble.. 0_0.. see our pics below..=) aliff's desperation!! lol.. more practice baby.. =)

omg!! tomorrow is the DAY! this is it!! this is really is it!! 0_0 anyway, i just want to relax and avoid test anxiety.. hahaha..

anyway, i just watched this cute video of two mascots dancing... the mascots are jollibee(from a famous fastfood chain in the philippines--like mcdonalds) and chuckie(from kfc).. super cute!!=)

manila: flooded by typhoon "ondoy"..

it's really sad to see manila being flooded brought by typhoon "ondoy"... people were stranded in their roofs.. some of them were being taken away by the strong currents.. they even announced that Manila is under the state of calamity.. so sad... well, the typhoon had left the country now.. but the aftermath of the typhoon is really devastating.. i think, that's the reason why the Philippines can't progress that much.. being the highway of typhoons, every time they develop something big, it will all be washed always by natural disasters.. and they have to start from scratch again and again..

fortunately, our house in manila is located in a higher location so it wasn't flooded that much.. but i dont know whether our other house(no one stays there anymore- old house) is floode or not.. well, i think its definitely flooded.. tsk tsk..

The said typhoon is the most devastating typhoon that hit manila.. see photos below.

what a good moment to contemplate and just take things slow.. i went for a massage today.. and it's so relaxing.. a good way to de-stress myself.. =) okay.. and i do have a very romantic dream last night.. weee! ^_^

2days to go and its my com sci final test.. omg!! so nerve-racking.. x_x so stressful!

anyway, i also feel sad today coz my chowder is out to malaysia for 2 days.. =( miss you!!
i'm so sad like this pug..(i also want to have a pug)

omg! i so love cats.. too bad,i can't have one.. they're just simply adorable.. my chowder always calls me the catlady because i always get excited whenever i see cats.. haha..

as the sky became darker and darker, the song rainy days and mondays by the carpenters came into my mind. well, it's always been raining on the once sunny singapore. maybe, it's all to be blamed with the climate change or it's just the rainy season. i find it cozy to just stay at home and read a book while the heavy rain is pouring out. i've always seen those coffe commercials depicting this kind of scenes. haha.. but, seriously, i 'm a bit bitter about rainy days and mondays.. haha..

when marcos declared martial law...

as i watching the tv this morning, i realized that, at the same day as today, martail law was declared, almost 23 years ago. ofcourse, that was made by the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, who was once the president of the philippines from 1965 to 1986.

"Amidst the rising wave of lawlessness and the threat of a Communist insurgency, Marcos declared martial law on September 21, 1972, by virtue of Proclamation No. 1081. Marcos, ruling by decree, curtailed press freedom and other civil liberties, closed down Congress and media establishments, and ordered the arrest of opposition leaders and militant activists, including his staunchest critics, senators Benigno Aquino,Jr., Jovito Salonga and Jose Diokno. The declaration of martial law was initially well received, given the social turmoil the Philippines was experiencing. Crime rates plunged dramatically after a curfew was implemented. Many political opponents were forced to go into exile." from Wikipedia.

okay, so there marcos declared martial law, Benigno Aquino died soon after that, and Aquino's wife started the People Power Revolution against Marcos, Marcos then experienced his downfall, Cory Aquino became the first lady president, replacing Marcos, and Democracy was achieved once more. =)

Martial Law era is considered the darkest chapter in the history of the philippines, and today, Filipino commemorate the pain and suffering that filipinos from the past had experienced during these dark and gloomy times.

so yeah, i'm still gonna spend the day reading the book.. boring, i know.. but i have to read the book.. alot of revising to do..

a new day. a typical sunday. i just finished cleaning the floors, as usual. but ofcourse, as lazy as i can be, doing those things is just because my mom told me to do so. hahah! anyway, i'm still off to continue studying.. i think i'm gonna spend the half of the day studying c++ and some of the leftover time would be for calculus.. hai. :( i have lots of problem with c++. i'm not really that logical when it comes to programming. i don't want to fail this subject. i'm getting the hang of it but it's just that, sometimes, logical part of my brain isn't that active. argh! *stressssssssss* i'm getting crazy over this.. my god! hope this day goes as planned.

oh yeah, selamat hari raya to my "chowder" and to all the muslims out there=)

a typical conversation in school:
me: hey, what's your topic for the report?
him: hmm.. no topic for now.. anyway,i've found a book called freakonomics. there are lots of cool issues there.. those unusual ones..
me: oh really.. *getting curious bout the book*
him: yeah, you should check it out..

so thats how i found the book.. no big deal on how i found the book anyway.. okay, it's called freakonomics by steven levitt and stephen dubner. i've stumbled upon their blog in NY times.. it's really interesting.. however, i can't seem to find the book in the bookstores.

instead, i found this equally interesting book called the logic of life by tim harford and the undercover economist by the same author.

i decided to just buy in the philippines when i go there for vacation in three weeks time.. *pretty excited now!*.. im pretty crazy about these kinds of books these days.. i find it very interesting.. and also, i want to escape from novels for a moment.. some variety will be cool.

crazy 'bout calculus...

well, i got kinda bored from watching tutorial videos about calculus, so i decided to start a blog. again... hope i can maintain this blog for as long as my mood allows me to.
justmathtutoring.com rocks.. =) it helped me alot.. =)
ok, i'm off to learn calculus.. my finals are coming soon.. hope that c++ programming test will not be in the same week as maths.. if that happens, *faints*..
